Dearest reader, Assalamu 'alaikum warahmatullaahe wabarakaatuh
I would describe myself as family-orientated and I am truly blessed to have a large family, alhamdulillahe rabbil 'alameen. We have regular get-togethers with food being the epicentre of our gatherings. My contribution tends to be something sweet; I have a love of baking - cakes, cookies, brownies, you name it! A typical night for my family and I would most likely involve us all sitting around the warmth of an open fire, a cup of tea in hand with a slice of cake, sharing jokes, playing Articulate, Pictionary or perhaps even watching a movie.
In light of the above, I think the hustle and bustle of every day life can become somewhat distracting to our true purpose. I therefore take regular time out to reflect and feel this to be beneficial for my self-development and peace of mind. I find turning to Allaah SWT five times a day helps me to reconnect and refocus. The deen plays a pivotal role in my life and is one of my biggest passions.
After having achieved a First Class degree in Psychology, I now work for a charity as a Family Mediator, supporting children who have poor relationships with their parents. Alhamdulillah a truly fulfilling role which I am grateful to have been blessed with.
I shamefully admit that I am a massive pogonophile and a grammar nazi. I have an eye for detail; one of my pet peeves is the use of slang or improper English. Having said this, we all have our own idiosyncrasies, unique from one person to the next; such is the beauty of Al-Khaaliq. May Allaah assist us in becoming the best version of ourselves that we can possibly be. Aameen.
Above all, I would desire in a husband love of Islaam and actively evidencing this within his everyday life; whether this be praying salaah on a golden sandy beach, a quiet corner in the office or a motorway service station. Being steadfast with salaah and being passionate about Islam is of paramount importance; once this is in place I believe all other aspects, such as as character, tend to fall into place. I do my best to live my life according to the principles of Islam and would like this mirrored in a life partner so that we can uplift, motivate and support one other in attaining all of life’s ambitions and our ultimate goal of jannah. Is this not the true purpose and essence of marriage?
Being ambitious is hugely important to me; not only are we encouraged to work for the akhirah but I feel it is of paramount importance to excel in the dunya, maintaining a happy balance between the two. Being a reflective person, I seek one who regularly seeks to better himself. Ultimately, experiencing that unique "spark", a natural chemistry speaks volumes, one where the both of us are intellectually, spiritually, physically and emotionally compatible. Chemistry ignites the flame within one’s soul and good character keeps that fire burning.
May Allaah bless us all with spouses who will be the coolness of our eyes, our best friend, our garment, and our happiness in dunya and akhirah. May He grant us spouses who will be a blessing upon us and place in our hearts unconditional love, mercy and affection. Aameen. Happy searching!
