A Little Bit About Me
I'm a hopeful and ambitious person in so many areas of life. I'm working professionally in various roles part time (lecturer, government analyst and in counseling/mediation) and at the same time I'm on the verge of completing my PhD inshaAllah. So I guess that means i'm good at saying what I think, discovering new things but also listening, like listening listening.
I love to travel, having visited approximately 30 countries so far (Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, etc etc) and hope to continue the adventure! I've just got back from trekking in the Himalayas (not quite made it to K2 or Everest base camp yet but in the next few years I hope)...there's nothing quite like nature. There's something about it which both humbles me and offers a sense of freedom from all the things life occupies us with. I do have faith and believe all that happens, does for a reason. There's always a purpose even if its not the one we envisaged!
Currently based in Glasgow but I'm not from here (although the Scottish nationality if it ever becomes available is one which appeals) so I'm open to relocation (also having lived in Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh at various points).
My aspirations for the future are to look back and say, I did something worthwhile with life. So at the moment in my spare time (but what free time you might wonder!) I'm trying to make a difference to the systems in Pakistan (police, education, social welfare etc) in terms of child protection which is in its early stages, however inshaAllah it will amount to something positive.
I'm a pretty broad minded individual and don't just think we should think outside the box, I actually believe there is no box! Life is all about what good we leave behind after all and why be constrained with limiting what good we think we can be and all that we have to learn?
