A Little Bit About Me
There are countless blessings which my creator has endowed me with. A good upbringing, enjoyable career, education, stability and independence are just a few. I was born and raised in the UK.

I’m slim build, always keep fit and active and look after my appearance. I'm not one to sit around idle. I often enjoy a spontaneous drive to the coast for a walk along the seafront when it's quiet or even watch the sunset there.

I am practicing in my deen, offer all my salat, fast and have always stayed away from haram activities. We are travellers on the spiritual path and everyone is at a different stage in their journey. I'm seeking a partner who is willing to travel the path with me. This does not mean you can't have fun in life, far from it. I like to relax and live an enjoyable life within the boundaries of what is permissible.

It is often casually quoted that "marriage is half your deen", which is true but said almost as if from day you get married you will have consequentially completed your deen. Just like that ! A husband and wife each have roles and responsibilities (which are different but not equal). I believe the purpose of marriage (and hence completing your deen) is to serve your spouse by stepping up to your responsibilities, to serve, tolerate and accommodate them for none other than the sake of Allah. If it is reciprocated, then we're on to something!
One of the great Sufi masters of Damascus use to remind his students "he who doesn't serve, regrets".

I like to be well presented and that includes being well spoken. I avoid using short hand and slang language, particularly in a formal context. At work my colleagues often smile when I repeatedly correct written grammar. Allah blessed us with speech and intellect so that we could learn the English language. It's only befitting that we use the language properly as it was intended.

I dislike stinginess. Being stingy or unnecessarily tight fisted particularly when we have been blessed with good means. To spend, and spend with an open hand, particularly on others is charity (sadaqah). It opens one’s heart.

We are here to enjoy this world and what it offers, but not forgetting that our purpose in this life is far greater. It’s not a case of ‘he who has the most toys by the end of his life wins’. We are present in this temporary world, enjoy its blessings but our hearts should always be with our creator.

What I Am Looking For
